Our history

The early years (1949–1961)

 

1949 – Founding of the company by Franz Strubl as a wholesaler for industrial and household supplies.
1953 – Start of industrial film processing – the first step toward modern packaging solutions.

 

Establishment and growth (1962–1979)

 

1962 – Founding of the Wendelstein site by Manfred Strubl, start of expansion.
1972 – Despite the oil crisis: Start of film extrusion in Wendelstein – an important technological milestone.
New locations and continuity (1980–1991)
1980 – Sustained growth leads to the founding of the Nabburg (Upper Palatinate) plant for film extrusion and manufacturing.

 

The company is consolidating its position as a reliable partner to industry.

 

Generational change and focus on quality (1992–1999)

 

1992 – The third generation, Dr. Christoph Strubl and Dipl.-Kfm. Franz Strubl, take over management of the company.
1995 – Certification according to DIN ISO 9001, introduction of modern quality standards.
1998 – Growth and new customers through the acquisition of the Hillebrecht company.

 

Innovation and system solutions (2000–2009)

 

2000 – Market launch of the Plug&Pack packaging system. STRUBL establishes itself as a system provider for complex packaging solutions combining materials and automation technology.
2003 – Expansion investment at the Nabburg site: entry into the pharmaceutical packaging market.
2004 – Establishment of a European sales network to actively exploit the opportunities offered by EU integration.
2007 – The 50th Plug&Pack system is successfully installed.
2009 – 60 years of STRUBL – anniversary marked by investments in new process technologies (laminated films, press-seal bags) at the Wendelstein site.

 

Strengthening cleanroom expertise (2010–2016)

 

2011 – Expansion of pharmaceutical production in Nabburg with a new Class 100,000 clean room.
2012 – Introduction of Doypacks for the Plug&Pack system.
2013–2015 – Continuous further development:

 

  • 125 Plug&Pack systems “in operation”
  • ISO 7 “Tested Device” for cleanroom products
  • Introduction of the Cleanliner system

 

2016 – Expansion of clean room production at the Nabburg site – another step towards high-tech packaging.

Today, STRUBL stands for sustainability, innovation, and quality in packaging technology—with over 70 years of experience, three generations of entrepreneurship, and a clear focus on the future.
